Joe Gormley got the only goal for Cliftonville in a 1-0 win over Ballymena Utd

IT was a record busting day for Portadown.

The Shamrock Park club hit Ballinamallard for 11 goals in the Danske Bank Irish Premier League.

There were hat tricks for Man of the Match Kevin Braniff and Gary Twigg as the Ports sliced the Mallards defences in half.

There were braces for McMahon and Murray and newboy Ryan McStay also got himself on the score sheet.

But Mallards went down to nine men when McMahon got a second yellow card and Feeny handled the ball on the line.

In Belfast, Glentoran’s short lived reign at the top of the league ended in a home defeat to Crusaders.

Colin Coates got two (and missed a penalty for a hat trick!) with another one from Jordan Owens gave the Crues all three points at the Oval.

Cliftonville got back on winning ways with a 1-0 away win to Ballymena Utd.

And that man Joe ‘The Goal’ Gormley got the winner after just three minutes – putting Cliftonville top of the league again.

Linfield got a second win on the bounce after beating Ards 3-1 at Dixon Park in Ballyclare.

Aaron Burns scored two while Matthew Tipton also got on the score sheet.

New boys Ards got a goal back through a penalty from Cully.

A 73rd minute strike from Lavery gave Dungannon Swifts all 3 points in a home win over Coleraine.

Glenavon had to come from a goal behind against Warrenpoint to score three second second half goals from Patton and two for Bates at Mournview Park.
