Come On Yee Blues..Jeffrey delights with first win of the season against Warrenpoint

DAVID Jeffrey’s Linfield bagged their first three points of the season.

The Blues beat Warrenpoint Town 2-0 away at Stangmore Park on Tuesday night.

The vital win lifted Linfield from the bottom of the table following a disappointing start to the season.

In a night of musical chairs, new boys Ards swapped places with Linfield after Glentoran thrashed them 5-0 nil.

It meant that the Glens go top of the Danske Bank Irish Premier League on goal difference from Cliftonville and Ballymena.

Scullion, Birney and Clarke gave the Glens a 3-0 nil cushion before subs Jordan Hughes and Niall Henderson gave Ards the coup de grace.

Glens boss Eddie Patterson will be hoping his team can carry their shooting boots into their next home game against Crusaders.

Ballymena Utd got back to winning ways at the Showgrounds.

They beat Portatdown 2 -1 leaving just the Braidmen just off first place on goal difference.

Portadown were looking to captilise on their rich vein of form after beating Cliftonville 2-1 on Friday night at Shamrock Park.
