CLIFTONVILLE’S 3-1 defeat at home last night to Coleraine has opened the door to a new league leader.
Tommy Breslin’s team are currently perched on top with nine points from their opening five games.
But they have suffered two defeats on the bounce with grumblings of discontent in the dressing room.
Cliftonville’s woes after winning their opening three games 4-2 on each occasion, has paved the way for a league leader later this evening.
Portadown, who stunned the Reds with a 2-1 win over them at Shamrock Park on Friday night, could go top tonight if they beat Ballymena away.
And so could Glenn Ferguson’s Braidmen if they can hit the target against Ronnie McFall’s team.
Also in the hunt to go top are Dungannon Swifts and Glentoran.
David Jeffrey’s Linfield team travel away to play Warrenpoint in the hope of securing their first three points of a disappointing opening start to the season for the Blues.
