NORTHERN Ireland have gone in at half time with a 1-0 lead over Russia.
The match has been rescheduled from March after the pitch at Windsor Park in south Belfast was first snow covered and then frozen solid during a severe cold snap.
But it is Michael O’Neill’s men who go in at half time with a goal to the good over Fabio Capella’s Russia.
Martin Paterson rose high above the defenece to finish with an excellent header from Niall McGinn’s cross.
It rocked a packed Windsor Park with fans starved of a win under Michael O’Neill.
