Police in Newtownabbey appeal over sectarian assault and robbery

POLICE are investigating a sectarian assault and robbery in Newtownabbey.

Two teenagers were walking along Elmfield Road in Newtownabbey when a red estate car approached them at the junction of Collinward Avenue on Saturday.

Two men inside the car shouted sectarian taunts at the victims, aged 18 and 19, before getting out of the vehicle and assaulting them.

The attackers stole mobile phones, football tickets and bank cards from their victims.
