Police reissue an appeal for infromation after a woman was raped last weekend

DETECTIVES have made a new appeal for information following the rape of a teenager girl last weekend in a seaside town.

The serious sexual assault on the 19-year-old girl occurred in the Down Road/Beach Avenue area of Newcastle, Co Down, in the early hours of last Saturday, July 20.

Investigating officers are looking to identify a male seen in the area at the time.

He is believed to be aged in his late teens, about 5ft 10ins tall and of medium build with medium-length hair and was wearing dark blue jeans and a light-coloured T-shirt.
