THE PSNI has arrested a 21-year-old suspect after reports of a man armed with a knife in Antrim.
Officers were called to the Railway Street area of the town around 1.30 pm on Wednesday afternoon.
Following a search of the area, a man was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, theft, criminal damage and attempted robbery.
A 16-year-old girl was also arrested in the Riverside area of the town over the attempted robbery.
It is understood the assault related to an incident in Donore Crescent around 7 am in which a man suffered injuries to his face.
The 21-year-old man is also being quizzed about:
* theft and criminal damage of alcohol from a lorry parked in High Street around midday.
* and the attempted robbery at a store in High Street that happened around 1.35pm.
Detectives at Antrim CID have appealed for anyone who witnessed the incidents to contact them on 0845 600 8000.
