BERTIE BIGSHOT gave blood donors in Belfast a shot in the arm on Tuesday.

He joined forces with Billy Blooddrop to promote Northern Ireland Blood Transfusion Service’s Blood Donor Week June 10 – 14.

The two mascots visited the Northern Ireland Northern Ireland Blood Transfusion Service’s HQ based on the Belfast City Hospital site to congratulate blood donors on their vital contribution to Northern Ireland’s lifesaving blood supplies.

Local firm Little Big Shot is doing its part by donating free cans of their award-winning, natural healthy energy drink to thank donors and give them an energy boost after giving blood.

Little Big Shot MD Bert Jukes said:

“Giving blood is a vital, lifesaving service that normal people offer to their community every day.

“I’m delighted that Little Big Shot can do its part in supporting this by offering donors a refreshing energy boost after they give their precious blood.

“As a local company, the least we can do is give something back to those people who literally give a bit of themselves to help others.”

Paul McElkerney of the Northern Ireland Blood Transfusion Service added:

“Giving blood at any time of the year is important, but during the summer or other holiday periods, it’s even more vital. It’s the perfect time to give blood, and help save the lives of those in desperate need.”

Anyone wishing to attend one of these lifesaving special events should call 0500 534 666, visit www.nibts.org, or to enrol text Blood to 60081.
