DISSIDENT republicans have issued a death threat against a female journalist in Belfast.
The National Union of Journalists (NUJ) said the PSNI had informed the journalist about the threat.
It is believed the threat came from Oglaigh na hEireann (ONH) in Belfast.
The NUJ called for the threat to be withdrawn.
The PSNI said it did not discuss individuals’s security but if it got information that a person’s life may be at risk it would inform that person.
The NUJ said it was concerned about the “growing number of threats being made by paramilitary groups in Northern Ireland against journalists who are carrying out their work”
“We call on those responsible for the latest threat to lift it and to publicly say so,” said the spokesman.
Recently two other journalists in Northern Ireland received information from the police that dissident republicans had issued death threats against them.
