Detectives investigating stabbing of man in Ballyclare

A 41-year-old man is in a serious condition in hospital after he was repeatedly stabbed in the back in Ballyclare, Co Antrim.

The brutal attack happened in the Clareville Walk area of the town in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Police say the victim was attacked by an unknown male at around 3am.

“He was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries which are described as being serious,” a PSNI spokeswoman said.

Detectives in Newtownabbey are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who has any information to contact them on 0845 600 8000.
