Jamie Bryson has had strick bail restrictions at a court on Thursday

ULSTER People’s Forum spokesman Jamie Bryson has had strict bail conditions relaxed on Thursday.

A judge at Belfast Magistrates Court agreed to lift his 8pm curfew and also remove a security tag.

Mr Bryson was arrested in Bangor in February after he was found hiding in the loft of a pastor’s house.

The 23-year-old was taken into custody and questioned on suspicion of public order offences linked to the ongoing flag protests in Belfast.

He was charged in March with encouraging or assisting offences, and taking part in an unnotified public procession.

At Thursday’s hearing, a number of loyalists were in the public gallery in support of the defendant.

He is next expected to appear at court on Thursday, June 20.

In May, he was banned by a court from attending the Irish Cup final between Glentoran and Cliftonville.
