Army technical officers remove a viable device fund in Ballyclare, Co Antrim

FORENSIC experts are to examine a viable device which was found during a security alert in Co Antrim.

The alert began in the Thornhill Drive area of Ballyclare following the discovery of a suspicious object on Sunday afternoon.

Homes were evacuated while army bomb experts were tasked to the scene.

The object was declared viable and the scene was cleared to allow residents to return to their homes.
