Ultra Plant wins £500,000 French order for recycling equipment.

ULTRA Plant International has won business worth around £500,000 in France.

The contract won by Dungannon-based manufacturer of recycling machinery contract is to supply 12 compact Trommel machines for recycling waste and other materials to Mecasoud in Paris, one of France’s leading equipment distributors.

The contract with Mecasoud was announced by Jody Kinghan, Ultra Plant’s sales and marketing manager, who attended the exhibition with a 17-strong Northern Ireland group, and welcomed by Dr Vicky Kell, Invest NI Trade Director.

Mr Kinghan said: “This is an immensely important contract for us in one of Europe’s biggest and most competitive markets.

“It’s the outcome of our extensive strategic marketing drive to expand our network of distributors there and will give us a strong presence in the biggest European marketplace. We are working closely with Mecasoud to support their sales there.

“Our participation with Invest NI on exhibitions and missions in our target European markets has been extremely successful in terms of lining up new business contacts. Invest NI has helped us in generating leads and exploring opportunities in these markets.

“What sets our Trommels apart from competitors is their compact size that makes them extremely easy to transport and to set up very quickly. Our trommels are robust and reliable and can be operating within a few minutes of being position on site,” he added.

Ultra Plant specialises in the design and manufacture of materials processing equipment, the best known being the Ultra Trommel Screen, a uniquely mobile processing screen that’s designed for processing top soil, building waste and waste management.

Dr Kell said: “This is an extremely encouraging success for Ultra Plant in France, a very challenging and demanding global marketplace. The company has used our trade support to establish a strong presence in France and other European markets by taking the opportunities that we provide, for example, to meet potential business contacts at sectoral trade shows such as BAUMA.

“We have an extensive programme of business development activities for local companies in key sectors such as construction and mining and it is great to see local companies taking advantage of our support.”

BAUMA is Europe’s biggest exhibition for the construction, building materials and mining industries.

The event attracted over 530,000 visitors from more than 200 countries and had 3,420 exhibitors from 57 countries.
