POWERTEAM, Northern Ireland’s largest high voltage electrical design and build company, has employed its 200th staff member – an 80 per cent increas in staff levels in four years.
The company, a wholly owned subsidiary of ESB, with offices in Belfast, Perth, Basingstoke, Manchester and Omagh, undertakes work across the UK and Ireland for companies such as SSE, Scottish Power, Electricity North West, Northern Powergrid, ESB and various wind farm developers.
Alastair Dawson, Managing Director, Powerteam, said: “This is a significant move forward for Powerteam as we continue to enjoy a period of high growth, with turnover increasing by £14m in the last year.
“We have 200 staff working in offices and on occasions, remote site locations delivering safe, efficient and effective solutions using the best technology and training available.”
Clare Doran, HR Manager, Powerteam said: “This is an exciting time for Powerteam, and with further contract wins expected in the next few months we are already making plans to recruit more people across our business at various levels.

Powerteam is an electricity infrastructure design and build company which designs, supplies, installs, commissions and project manages the construction and refurbishment of substations and overhead lines to distribution network operators, windfarm developers and private network owners in the UK and Ireland.
Powerteam employs 200 staff directly and regularly engages more than 100 sub-contracted workers to service its growing portfolio of clients across the UK and Ireland.
