Sgt Brian Caskey warns gangs gathering in north Belfast for anti social behaviour

POLICE have asked the public to be on the alert for gangs gathering in north Belfast.

It follows incidents last Friday and Saturday when groups of youths met at the junction of Merston Gardens and the Serpentine Road.

The PSNI believe the gangs planned to get involved in “anti-social behaviour”.

Sgt Brian Caskey of York Road PSNI station saidL “This is something that can impact in all areas of the Community.

“I would ask any residents who observe this sort of gather up to report same to the police as soon as possible.

“I would also encourage parents to make sure they know where their kids are in the evening and advise them to stay away from such areas.

“Everyone needs to be aware that there are a number of CCTV cameras in the area which are constantly monitored and can record evidence which may lead to police calling at the houses of those involved in anti social behaviour.”
