Police appeal for information over attempted north Belfast robbery

DETECTIVES are investigating after a woman has been threatened with a Stanley knife during an attempted armed robbery in north Belfast.

The thief entered the Antrim Road shop at around 8pm on Saturday.

He demanded cash from the female employee before making off empty handed towards the city centre.

The man is described as in his mid 20s, 5’9″ tall and of slim build.

While officers investigated the incident, an unmarked police car parked outside was badly damaged by youths in the area.
