Police investigating after a woman injured in gas explosion

POLICE are investigating after a woman was taken to hospital after an explosion at a house in Newtownabbey.

It is believed there was a build-up of gas involving a coal fire in the living room of the house in Harmin Drive, Glengormley, on Friday night

The woman was treated for serious burn injuries.

A man and two children who were in the house at the time escaped unhurt.
