A number of gardens have been evacuated in Antrim over a suspicious object

THE PSNI say a ‘viable device’ was found during a security alert in Antrim on Wednesday evening.

A number of homes at Mallusk Gardens had been evacuated after a suspicious object found was found.

Army technical officers attendedd the scene.

Following an examination, the ATO declared the object was a “viable device”.

It has been taken away for examination.

Residents have since been allowed back into to their homes.
