Police in Strabane discover handgun after stopping a jeep in the town

BREAKING NEWS….. A security alert is underway after a gun was found on Monday afternoon.

Abercorn Square in Strabane in Co Tyrone has been cordoned off after a handgun was discovered in a jeep when it was stopped by the police.

Army technical officers have been tasked to the scene to examine the firearm.

Motorists are advised to avoid Abercorn Square and seek an alternative route.
