The scene of the accident in Omagh in which an elderly man was killed

A PEDESTRIAN has died following an accident in Omagh on Wednesday morning.

The accident happened at the junction of Sedan Avenue and Mountjoy Road around 8.20am.

It is believed the elderly man was knocked down.

Paramedics arrived on the scene within two minutes of receiving a 999 call, said the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service.

Police and a fire tender also attended the scene.

The elderly man’s name has not yet been released.
