Police launch murder probe in west Belfast

DETECTIVES have launched a murder probe after a man in his 20s died after being shot in west Belfast.

The victim wounded whilst making a delivery in the Kennedy Way area shortly after 11pm on Saturday night.

The man was rushed to the Royal Victoria Hospital where he later died of his injuries hospital.

Local Sinn Féin MP Paul Maskey said those responsible “should be ashamed”.

He said: “My thoughts are with the family of the young man who was murdered in Kennedy Way”.

Detectives from the PSNI’s Major Investigation Team (MIT) are appealing for anyone with information about the incident to contact them on 0845 600 8000.
