Police probe arson attack on cars in Ballyholme, Co Down

DETECTIVES are investigating after two cars were destroyed in an arson attack in Co Down.

A Ford Fiesta and a Volvo were set on fire in the Ballyholme area of Alanwood Park just outside Bangor shortly after midnight on Sunday.

Police are treating the incident as criminal damage and want to speak with two people, wearing dark clothing and aged in their mid twenties, who were seen in the area earlier in the Saturday evening.

A police spokesperson said: “A link between the two vehicles is one line of enquiry, however a motive for the attack has yet to be established.”
