Police charge Belfast man over rape in Co Tyrone

A MAN from Belfast has faced a court accused of raping a woman in County Tyrone.

Colin Crothers, of Glenlea Park, in east Belfast is accused of carrying out the attack in Cookstown on July 7, 2012.

The 46-year-old appeared before Dungannon magistrates court, where he was also charged with two counts of sexual assault and one of assault.

The district judge remanded Mr Crothers on £400 bail and ordered him not to contact the woman or any witnesses.

He also barred the accused from entering certain areas of Cookstown.

The case was adjourned until Wednesday, March 20.
