Police have recovered the remains of missing Harry Warwick

THE body found last week in north Belfast is that of missing pensioner Harry Warwick, police have confirmed.

The positive identification was confirmed following an autospy examination, DNA testing and dental records.

The remains of the 78-year-old were found in the Mill Valley Road area of Ballysillan on Monday, February 25.

Police thanked members of the community who carried out searches of the area and said Mr Warwick’s family has been informed.

The elderly pensioner, who suffered from dementia, was last seen on Wednesday 19 December, the week before Christmas, close to his care home on the Crumlin Road.
