Security alert at Kitchener Street off the Donegall Road

POLICE have evacuated a number of residents from their homes in south Belfast following a security alert.

It follows the discovery of a suspicious object in Kitchener Street on Thursday evening.

Army bomb experts are at the scene and are examining the suspect object.
