COMPONENT parts of a pipe bomb have discovered following a security alert in Co Antrim.
Army technical officers were tasked to the scene on the Doagh Road in Ballyclare on Friday morning.
A number of residents were evacuated from the their homes as ATO examined the scene.
No controlled explosion was carried out but police said that the necessary parts need to make a viable pipe bomb have been removed for forensic examination.
The Doagh Road has reopened and residents have been allowed to return to their homes.
