POLICE have warned students to be on their guard following a spate of burglaries in south Belfast at the weekend.
PSNI Laganbank said the burglaries reported over the weekend in the Laganbank area, mainly in the Holyland and Stranmillis areas.
Student homes were targeted and iPads, laptops and iPods stolen.
“Please remember to take basic crime prevention measures to prevent the loss of your valuable property,” said the PSNI.
“Close and lock windows and doors, leave a light on if going out for the evening, report anyone suspicious to police (we are happy to check these people out).
“And take any valuables home if leaving the property for the weekend. If you have a house alarm please use it.”
