Police investigate reports of ‘loud bang’ in Belfast

POLICE are investigating reports of a “loud bang” in the north Belfast area on Sunday night.

Loyalists claim residents heard the nosie in the Woodvale area at Rosemount Street close to the Crumlin Road peaceline.

Dissident sources claimed a “blast bomb” device was thrown over the peacelline into a loyalist area.

However, nothing has been found and police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

And anyone who sees a suspicious object is urged to ring police immediately.

Last Monday night, loyalists said a “loud bang” was heard in the exact same area.

Police investigated but later withdrew after nothing was found.
