Six police landrovers at Donegall Road protest on Friday night

A MAN has been arrested on Friday night during an ‘Operation Standstill’ Union flag protest in south Belfast.

The 57-year-old man was arrested by police for obstructing a road, disorderly behaviour and assaulting PSNI officers.

The offences are alleged to have taken place during a protest this evening on the Donegall Road.

There are have Union flag protests across the province on Friday evening but all have passed off peacefully.
