Police probe south Belfast ‘armed’ robbery

POLICE are hunting a man who held up a shop in south Belfast claiming he had a gun.

The robbery happened at around 8.10pm on Friday night on the Ormeau Road.

Police said the man went into a shop and told staff he had a firearm but never produced it.

No one was hurt and the robber fled with cigarettes and money.

The thief is described as around 30-years-old, of slim build, with dark hair and wore a blue hooded tracksuit top with white stripes on the arms, blue faded jeans and white trainers.
