Army bomb experts defuse pipe bomb

FORENSIC experts are examining a viable pipe bomb device made safe by Army bomb disposal specialists.

A number of homes were evacuated in the Toberhewny Hall area of Lurgan, Co Armagh on Wednesday while a suspect object was examined.

Following a security operation, the suspect object was declared a viable pipe bomb device by army bomb experts.

Residents were allowed to return to their homes and the device was removed for a forensic examination.
