Police hunt would-be south Belfast robber

POLICE are appealing for help in tracing a would-be robber who tried to hold up a south Belfast shop on Thursday.

The man threatened a Lisburn Road shop worker and demand cigarettes and cash during the attempted robbery at around 2.10am.

The suspect fled empty-handed towards the King’s Hall after the shop worker refused to hand over cigarettes and cash.

The PSNI said he is described as age around 20, with short hair and was wearing a black track suit with three white stripes on the arm and hood.

Anyone who saw the would-be robber fleeing on foot is asked to ring police on 0845 600 8000.
