Detectives charge man over cannabis factory

DETECTIVES are hunting two men armed with a gun and a hammer who robbed a lorry driver in Co Down.

The dramatic armed hold up unfolded in the Clandeboye Road area of Bangor on Thursday.

Police said the masked pair approached the driver around 5.50pm and threatened him with the weapons.

He was forced to hand over a sum of cash at gunpoint before the robbers made off towards the town centre.

The driver was left badly shaken but unhurt during his ordeal.

A PSNI spokesperson said the robbers wore black balaclavas, black tops and black trousers.

Detectives in Bangor have appealed for anyone who witnessed the robbery or has any information about it ring them on 0845 600 8000.
