ARDS MAN RINGS 999 AFTER LOCAL CHINESE DIDN’T ANSWER THEIR PHONE

Police appeal over west Belfast assault

POLICE  are to visit a man in Newtownards after he rang 999 to complain that his local Chinese takeaway wasn’t answering their phone.

A PSNI Ards Inspector said: “When he was reminded that 999 was strictly for emergencies he stated it was an emergency as he wanted to order a meal.

“I have arranged for the local neighbourhood officer to call with this man.”

However, police will not be calling with the man’s Chinese takeaway.

He will be getting a visit and advised about abusing the 999 emergency telephone number.
