MAN ARRESTED IN MURDER BID PROBE AFTER WOMAN SUSTAINED SERIOUS INJURIES IN FALL FROM BELFAST FLAT

Police probe attempted murder in west Belfast

DETECTIVES have launched a murder bid probe after a woman plunged from the fourth floor of a building in west Belfast.

A 26-year-old man was later arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and is currently in custody being quizzed.

Police received a report that the woman had fallen from a block of flats in the Springmeadow area at about 4.50 am.

She was taken to hospital for treatment for serious chest and leg injuries.

The man was also detained on suspicion of assault on police and resisting police.

The PSNI has appealed for witnesses to contact them.
