GLENTORAN were knocked out of the League Cup after a penalty shoot out with Linfield on Tuesday night.
The game at the Oval ended scoreless after extra time with Michael Clarke sent off for the Glens on 60 minutes.
The Blues ran out 4-2 winners from the penalty spot, adding further woe to Eddie Patterson’s season at Glentoran.
But things are looking up for Linfield boss David Jeffrey.
After a poor start, he has seen his team’s performances rise up a notch in recent weeks, particularly with the arrival from the injury table of Andy Waterworth.

And Ballymena got back to winning ways with a revenge 3-0 home win over Ballinamallard.
