MAN CHARGED OVER BRUTAL MURDER OF COLIN HORNER

UDA murder victim Colin Horner shot dead in Bangor on Sunday, May 28as he was getting into his car at a carpark in Bangor

DETECTIVES have charged a second man with the murder of Colin Horner.

The 29-year-old man from Newtownards has been charged with the murder of Mr Horner who was gunned down outside Sainsbury’s carpark in Bangor.

The 35-year-old was shot dead in front of his three-year-old son on Sunday, May 28.

The man has also been charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition with intent to endanger life.

He is due to appear in court on Monday.

Detectives believe Mr Horner was gunned down as he was an associate of Carrickfergus loyalist Geordie Gilmore who was shot dead in March.

The double murders have been blamed on an internal feud inside the south east Antrim UDA.
