DETECTIVES from the PSNI’s Reactive and Organised Crime Branchy have arrested two men following an attack on a house, a car and attempted assault.
The incident happened yesterday, Sunday, May 10, at a property in Forfar Street off the Springfield Road in west Belfast.
At approximately 1035 hours police were called by the occupant who stated that 2 men had forced their way into the premises armed with wheel braces.
They smashed the front door and windows and threatened the man who is in his 30’s. They also attempted to assault the victim and before making off in a Black VW Golf the culprits damaged a vehicle that was parked in the street.
The victim, another male and a woman in her 30’s also present were uninjured but left badly shaken.
A 31 year man has been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary, threats to kill, criminal damage and driving offences.
A 44 year old has been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and criminal damage.
Both are being held at Musgrave PSNI station for questioning.
Detective Inspector Pete Mullan said: “Both men are currently in custody assisting with enquiries and I continue to appeal for anyone who has information relating to the incident to contact detectives at Musgrave police station on 101 or alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
