INLA PROBE: MAN ARRESTED AFTER STUN GUN SEIZED IN THE POST

DETECTIVES from the Paramilitary Crime Task Force, investigating ongoing criminality linked to the INLA, have arrested a 33 year old man in west Belfast today, Wednesday, August. 5

The man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a prohibited weapon and is currently in custody at Musgrave station assisting officers with their enquiries.

Detective Inspector Hamilton said: “A search of a house was conducted in west Belfast after a parcel containing a stun gun type weapon was intercepted by Border Force.

“As a result of the search, the man was arrested and a number of items were seized, which have now be taken for further examination.

“We continue to target the criminal activities of the INLA and all those involved in paramilitary activity and I would ask anyone with any information in relation to criminal activity to contact police on 101f.

“Alternatively, call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.”
