MAN ARRESTED OVER MURDER OF DRUG BARON JIM DONEGAN

DETECTIVES from PSNI’s Major Investigation Team investigating the murder of  drug baron Jim Donegan on the Glen Road in west Belfast on December 4, 2018 have arrested a 42 year old man.

He was detained today under section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000.

The suspect was taken to Musgrave Serious Crime Suite where he is being questioned by detectives over the brutal murder.

This evening the PSNI say the man has now been released unconditionally.

Detectives believe Donegan was shot dead by the INLA and a violent dissident republican group.

They believe the terrorists pulled resources to carry out the assassination close to a school where he was waiting to pick up his son in his flame red Porsche Panamera car.
