A WOMAN has been hospitalised after being knocked down in a hit-and-run incident last night.

The incident happened on the Ormeau Road in the south Belfast around 10.50 pm on Saturday, March 16.

Police said a female pedestrian was struck by a car, possibly silver-coloured vehicle, that was travelling citybound.

The woman was taken to hospital by ambulance.

The PSNI closed the road between Haywood Avenue and Sunnyside Street for a time last night as the scene was examined.
