TEEN ARRESTED OVER ‘HOAX’ BOMB ALERT AT WEST BELFAST POLICE STATION

Woodbourne PSNI stationDETECTIVES have arrested a teenage over an “elaborate hoax’ bomb alert at a police station in west Belfast.

Army Technical Officers were tasked to the scene at Woodbourne PSNI station on this afternoon after the alarm was raised over a suspicious object.

Several homes were evacuated and the Stewartstown Road was closed at its junctions with Blacks Road and Suffolk Road while a controlled explosion was carried out.

Police said ATO declared the suspect object was an “elaborate hoax”.

In follow up inquiries, a 17-year-old teen boy was been arrested in connection with the alert.

He is currently being held at the serious crimes suite at Musgrave PSNI station.

All roads in the area have now reopened and evacuated residents have been allowed to return home.
