THIS is the scene of the security in east Belfast today as police cordon off the area.

It follows the discovery of a suspicious object on the Beersbridge Road.

The road has been closed in both directions near the Bloomfield Road.

Diversions are in place and motorists are asked to avoid the area.

Army Technical Officers are currently at the scene examining the object.
