DETECTIVES from the PSNI’s Major Investigation Team probing the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of 34 year old Charlotte Murray two years now believe she was murdered.

In a major development this afternoon, senior officers have revealed that a 44 year old man has been arrested on suspicion of her murder.

The arrest was made in Co Antrim earlier today by detectives from MIT.

Detective Chief Inspector Gareth Talbot said: “Police enquiries over nearly two years give us grounds to believe that Charlotte may have been murdered.

“The suspect is to be interviewed in the Serious Crime Suite at Antrim.”

Charlotte was originally from Omagh but had been living in Moy.

She was reported missing in May 2013 but had not been in contact with family or friends since October/November 2012.

Appeals for information as to Charlotte’s whereabouts were made by police and her family in the summer of 2013.

However, Charolotte never made contact and detectives believe she may have been murdered by a man she met.
