POLICE ACCIDENT 2A man aged in his 30s has died in a crash.

The one-vehicle crash happened at around 10pm on Friday on the A2 Belfast Road in Holywood in Co Down.

The man was the driver of a red Seat Ibiza car when it crashed.

His death brings to 67 the number of people killed on the province’s roads in the first ten months of the year compared to 57 for the whole of 2013.

His passenger, also a man aged in his 30s, was taken to hospital following the one-vehicle incident.

Inspector Roberta Morris added: “This is a busy road, therefore I would appeal to anyone who saw the Seat Ibiza or who knows anything about the rtc to contact the Collision Investigation Unit at Steeple Police Station on the non-emergency number 101.”

The A2 road had been closed for a while to allow a crash scene investigation to be completed and it has now reopened.
