NI ROADS CLAIM 58TH VICTIM AS DIES IN CAR CRASH

POLICE ACCIDENT 2THE province’s roads have claimed another victim today.

A 19-year-old was killed after his silver Volkswagen Passat which crashed on the Ballagh Road in Co Down just after 1 am this morning.

It brings to 58 the number of people who have died on Northern Ireland’s roads in the first nine months of the year.

Police have closed the road, which is the main route between Newcastle and Annalong, to allow officers to investigate the accident.

Traffic is being diverted at Bloody Bridge through Spelga and Bryansford.

Police have appealed for information to contact its Collision Investigation Unit on the non-emergency 101 number.
