THE start of the Belfast half marathon was delayed earlier this morning after a policewoman was injured in a road accident.

Police say her motorcycle was in collision with a car on the Malone Road at its junction with Windsor Park in south Belfast around 9 am..

Her injuries are not believed to life-threatening.

The road was closed for a period and police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the crash to contact them on the 101 non emergency number.
