DETECTIVES are hunting a masked gang who assaulted a 22-year-old man with an iron in west Belfast.

The vicious attack happened at a house in Ballygomartin Drive just before 21:40 BST on Friday.

A woman and young girl who were also in the house at the time of the attack cheated injury in the attack.

A car parked close to the house was also damaged during the incident.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment for injuries to his body, legs and arms, but they are not thought to be life-threatening.

Detective in west Belfast have appealed for anyone with information to contact them on the 101 non-emergency number.
