‘SWORD’ MAN ARRESTED AFTER ASSAULT IN SOUTH BELFAST

PSNI HQA 27 year old man was arrested in the early hours of Saturday 12 July on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and common assault.

The arrest followed a report to police just after 3.30am that a man was in the Rockland Street area of South Belfast.

Police were alert after residents claimed  man was armed with two suspected swords and threatening people.

PSNI officers attended and the man was arrested at approximately 4.15am.

He is currently assisting police with their enquiries.
