TWO HELD AFTER BLADED WEAPON SEIZED

Police crime scene picPSNI OFFICERS are jubilant after a member of the public helped them to take an offensive weapon off the streets of north Belfast.

A mobile police patrol was responding to a call from a member of the public about two males acting suspiciously in Atlantic Avenue, off the
Antrim Road in north Belfast in the early hours of Monday morning.

“The pair made off on foot but were detained a short distance away,” said a PSNI spokesperson.

“Officers arrested one of the two for possession of a blade.

“Police offices can’t be everywhere but with the community can be. We would like to thank those who called us for helping us keep north Belfast safe.”
